Quarter back Matt Schaub made 4770 passing yards last season, aided by wide receiver Andre Johnson who made 101 receptions and totalled 1569 receiving yards. The result was that the Houston Texans nearly made the playoffs for the first time their history. The Atlanta Falcons made it two winning seasons in a row (a franchise first) when they overcame the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their final game last season – but they nevertheless missed the post season.
